Campaign Module 15th December

Today I will be going to Brune Park school to work with the other diploma students for a comedy workshop.

We had a professional comedian come and talk to use about how to make a successful comedy act and the types of things we will need to cover and do to make our comedy festival.

One of the things we discussed was how to advertise the comedy festival - this is where we discussed with him the types of ideas and plans we had for our own schools advertising and took some of his advice on board about how we can make it very successful.

The next thing we did was an exercise of how comedy can effect peoples reactions and the different types of comedy that people use with different audiences.

Another thing that I did today was work on my individual campaign ideas. I designed various posters with different designs and layouts and then analysed each of them deciding which styles worked best to advertise the campaign. After doing this I then planned to create a facebook page. This would have to include all the information on what the LOL festival was about, when it was, other events happening and adding funny clips and images to make the page appealing. People would then join this page and it would raise awareness through the internet.

Another thing I started to do for the campaign is create a newspaper article. I am going to be creating a newspaper article for the school newspaper.

The first thing that I did was create a plan on what I will be doing and the stages I will go through to get it printed in the school newspaper.

After, I made a newspaper article plan on what I am going to be writing in the article. I planned out the paragraphs and what will be in them. The next thing I did was made the first draft of the newspaper article. I then asked for feedback from my group and edited the article and the things that I will need to change.

I then made a draft 2 and put in the things that needed to be edited in the first one. In this one I also invited feedback and annotated it also so it would look better.

I edited draft 2 and made a draft 3 stating the things I would then like to change on this plan, focusing on the design, layout and colours. i added a border and some funny images that would appeal.

For draft 4 I added more colours, borders and re-sized the images.

For the final draft I have corrected everything and analyzed it. I think that my design now is very effective and it looks appealing.

Strengths:

During this process i think that my process of planning, re-planning and drafting was effective and I did this well, I also took criticism well and made my designs better. Also, I planned thoroughly and made detailed spider diagrams.

The next thing I did was decide to make one of my gurilla ideas for the campaign. The ideas was to have a double-sided business card. The first thing i did was create a draft on paper of an idea for the car, included colours and the text that will be on them. After this i developed it into draft 2 and annotated it again, i decided to use the text - date of the comedy festival and a rhetorical question: will you be there? I think that this idea will make the audience want to know more about the card.

After this i then created the idea on the computer. I used a business card layout and include the logo in the design and changed the fonts to interesting font.

After this I annotated this design and said things that I would change and were good.

Strengths:
Overall today I have found that it was useful and gave me more ideas on things we could do to advertise and the acts that we can do which would appeal to my audience. I think that the ideas we presented to the comedian were successful and he gave us some positive responses and constructive criticisms. This is where I showed my strengths and can now improve my ideas.
Furthermore I used my time effectively and created a number of sources to advertise my campaign effectively and listened to feedback well and re-drafted my work until it was suitable.
