Annie Production october

Firstly we had a group discussion (RL1) about the things we were doing and then gave each other feedback to help improve our work and things we could do to achieve the results we want. (TW2)

Today we drafted our letter to the junior schools asking them if they would like to come and see our production. For our fist draft we gave it Mrs Kent and she gave us feedback and positive criticism and also how we can improve the letter. (RL4) After this we then edited the letter, correcting all the notes that Mrs Kent gave us about the letter and generally improved the language and sentence structures to make it sound more professional and well thought out.

Also today we had visitors from different departments of the school coming in, assessing us and viewing what we have done so far. I showed a teacher what I was doing, my job role and the things I am learning and achieving during this module. (RL6)

Today I have been a reflective learner and a team-worker. I have also developed some new editing and english skills and learnt how to construct a formal letter to a different type of audience (a school) to invite them to the production.

Dear Mr Andy Stockton

It is our pleasure to write to you to invite your students and their parents/carers to this years Brookfield production of Annie. Brookfield's productions are well received and attract large audiences. With a reputation for quality presentation and a good evenings entertainment enjoyed by every generation, so this is a very good opportunity not to be missed.

We are running our production from Wednesday 2nd to Friday 4th December at Brookfield.

Every year the production is really popular yet unfortunately there are always some members of the community who are unable to purchase tickets. We are aware of this and therefore to help the situation would be to sell some tickets at a reduced rate to students and parents from our local feeder schools.

We would like to ask if you could distribute and collect ticket returns for this performance which will take place for a younger audience on 1st December. This performance is ideal, as it will have an earlier start time of 6pm, that means that a younger audience can enjoy Annie with not too late a night. However we are not filling our hall to it’s full capacity as it will be the cast’s dress rehearsal so the tickets will be allocated on a first come first serve basis so don’t miss out!

If you have students and their parent/carers who are interested in coming to the dress rehearsal please distribute copies of the letter, which includes further details. This is a fantastic opportunity to watch a brilliant show which the students here at Brookfield School have been working so hard on, and we promise to make it an enjoyable experience. We believe your pupils would thoroughly enjoy viewing this performance, as it is fun and helping our local community.

Yours sincerely,

Kia Holliday and Amber Lightfoot
